No, it is not as powerful as some of his other works. This show contains a lot of laugh lines that the cast delivers skillfully. Considering the themes of the play I think this was a wise decision by Mr. Mamet. This allows the audience members of all races to view the play without anyone becoming hostile to their seat neighbors or to the actors, and yet giving those same audience members fodder to chew upon after the show. <br /><br />The performances by James Spader and David Alan Grier were excellent! I for one would give the show a solid B versus your C. If Kerry Washington's and Richard Thomas' performances had been stronger I would have given the show a B+.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
